Anna McCambridge spends a lot of time at Dandelion: eating, drinking, meeting fabulous folks, looking at the artwork and being overjoyed that this place exists in Orlando!
Anna is a local artist and arts activist, whose efforts include many volunteer activities.
She served as the first Orlando Visual Artist League (OVAL) Community Outreach Program Director, in which she designed programs to help seniors and children in the community benefit from visual arts. She currently serves as OVAL's Entertainment Program Director for the OVALs exhibition events. She serves as the Executive Board Chair for the Marketing and PR Committee, and also on the curating committee at the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) for the 1st Thursday Events, as well as being a volunteer for Additions in the Orange County School district, and for the PencilPALS which encourages at-risk children to improve their reading skills by providing them a responsible adult role model with whom to interact.
Anna brings to Dandelion her experience of curating, producing, designing, and hanging exhibitions for OVAL, Orlando Museum of Art 1st Thursdays, and many group and individual exhibitons.
One of Anna's goals is to help in making Orlando culturally richer by being active in the arts community. She has been a featured artist in publications such as: National Public Radio's Arts Connection, The Orlando Sentinel, Orlando Magazine, Orlando Leisure Magazine, Orlando Style Magazine, Orlando Business Journal, and Eleven Magazine. Anna has shown her work in several solo shows and dozens of group shows over the past decade, has won numerous awards, an Individual Artist Professional Development Grant from United Arts of Central Florida, and her work is in collections locally as well as worldwide. Her more recent national accomplishments were working on Christo & Jeanne-Claude's "The Gates" project in
New York City's Central Park in February 2005, and having her tree banner displayed in NYC's Times Square for the AIGA New York's Urban Forest Project in Sept. & Oct. 2006.
