Earth Day is an annual event held on April 22 intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment. Join us for a free local celebration. The event will include healthy living and eco-friendly exhibitors, speakers, and presentations; non-profits; fun and games for kids; and live music and entertainment. Central Florida Earth Day will draw those who want to learn more about how to protect our health, the planet, and its inhabitants. VENDORS For a list of vendors, please check here. After last year's 1st Annual World Fair Trade Day, with a stellar turn out of nearly 1,500 patrons, Orlando is demanding World Fair Trade Day again! FTGOC's "FAIR TRADE DAY -- TAKE THE INITIATIVE!" will be making some noise in Orlando with live bands, DJs, and vegan and organic vendors, as well as Fair Trade food and crafts. Music: DJ Marshall Jones of Brownsville/Soulidified Music spins OurLando's only soulful house Thursday, May 17th Malisa McCreedy, the City of Orlando's Transportation Planner, will speak on Get Active Orlando and the City's bike and pedestrian plans. Get Active Orlando promotes physical activity through community design, programs and communication strategies. Progams include a senior walking group, bike giveaway and community garden at a local school. Thursday, June 21st Emily Ruff, director of Florida School of Herbal Studies and owner of Orenda Herbal will talk about how the creation of sustainable communities empowers individuals to expand their knowledge of and experience with the natural world in relation to their holistic wellbeing, through a philosophy-in-practice education of the uses of herbs for food, wellbeing, and spirit.
