Communitea Herb Garden, Coming Soon...

Our vision of 'green'ing downtown is coming alive later this Spring!
The Florida School of Herbal Studies, in partnership with Dandelion Communitea Cafe, Shalamar's Garden, and Orenda Herbal, will enter their initial installation phase of a Communitea Herb Garden this summer - a special green space where we can each get our hands dirty, play with plants, and learn more about ourselves and the natural world that sustains us.

Our Communitea Herb Garden will serve as a model for urban bioregional landscaping and will feature nutritive and medicinal plants, native plants, sacred trees, nestboxes, and compost and rainwater catchment systems. It will also be an opportunity for residents to work together to create a beautiful garden for all to enjoy.

This installation will serve as the first stage of an evolving project. We look to the future with visions of sustainably powered hydroponic gardens, eco-responsible stormwater management, and expanded bioscaping.

All this is possible - if we work together as a 'communitea'!!

Dandelion's lawn has served as a sacred space where we've truly cultivated community in the past year - through new and full moon drum circles, benefit concerts, group gatherings, community festivals such as Earth Day and World Fair Trade Day - and countless sunny afternoons, teacups in hand, with new friends and old.

Join us as we continue to cultivate a truly special, truly green space for OurLando to enjoy!
