Malisa McCreedy, the City of Orlando's Transportation Planner, will speak on Get Active Orlando and the City's bike and pedestrian plans. Get Active Orlando promotes physical activity through community design, programs and communication strategies. Progams include a senior walking group, bike giveaway and community garden at a local school.
Thursday, June 21st
Emily Ruff, director of Florida School of Herbal Studies and owner of Orenda Herbal will talk about how the creation of sustainable communities empowers individuals to expand their knowledge of and experience with the natural world in relation to their holistic wellbeing, through a philosophy-in-practice education of the uses of herbs for food, wellbeing, and spirit.
Thursday, July 19th
Terrell Brown & Karim, The Green Marine, will talk about alternative technologies in transportation and what is happening in Orlando. Terrell Brown will speak about utilizing advanced communicationssystems to reduce traffic, fossil fuel consumption, pollution, transportation costs and ecological disruptions, while simultaneously increasing safety and quality of life to the community. The Green Marine will bring his Green Machine.....live demonstration and discussion of converting your vehicle to alternative fuels..... Can't miss this one!
Thursday, August 16th
Rebecca Reis, recently featured in the Orlando Sentinel, will talk about the new up & coming Slow Food Movement. She will talk about considering the origins of our food, its production and distribution, the consequences of mass-production and how it impacts our lives and environment. She will also talk to us about how Slow Food is about "fair" food and "the honest pleasures of food."
Green Drinks is the only place in Orlando where you can eat, drink, enjoy great music and talk and learn about the issues concerning OurLando's community.
