Transforming the Extraordinary

Golly gee, we are BUSY! Keeping pace with all the happy folks who come through our door - loyal regulars who have been with us since the get-go, new folks who are finding us every day & friends from out of town who find our little oasis - are all stoked to see our success.

For the better part of the past year I've been upgrading to our kitchen facilities to increase our efficiency, allow for more flexibility in our menu and best of all, allow you, our guest, to relax more and enjoy your time at Dandelion.

The Magic Stays! Here's what will NEVER change:

  • Our down to earth, eclectic, diverse, everyone's welcome all the time friendliness & approachability.
  • Casual atmosphere & space for local artists, musicians, poets and YOU to showcase your creative talents in a community atmosphere.
  • Our commitment to a sustainable business: we will always strive to be greener, will never stray from our vegetarian roots and will always be your authentic, grassroots stomping ground.

Here are some of the TRANSFORMATIONS we have on the horizon:

We are here to serve you. Now, we really will.
That's right, starting mid-April, you can now plop down at your favorite table and we'll come take your order, bring you your food, chat with you about tea, wine, awesome vegan desserts & let you in on the cool events we've got going on. We'll even refill your drinks & get a to go box for you if you need one. Aren't we sweet?

Want something ELSE? Now, we can be creative!
Long lines have made it difficult to roll out specials or allow you to really customize your order. Starting in May, you will see much more variety on the menu, including a build-your-own section where you can get exactly what you want. This will enable us to truly get in the seasonal food groove & makes working with local growers & their small bumper crops a lot easier.

In a hurry? Trust us, we know how it is!
Now that we won't have a line out the door, to go order placement & pick-up should be a breeze. Just want a tea? Quick counter service is still available for you! We are also planning on adding some grab n go items to our fridge in the next little bit - hummus, chili, dressings. Ya know, the fav's.

Got a Sweet Tooth? So do we!
None of can get enough of Sweet Tooth Vegan Goodies, which is why we yanked out our front counter and put in a glass display case to feature these local treats. May we always have 'em in stock!

The only physical changes we need to make are to add a few more seats inside and out (we moved the yellow couch to the piano room to make room for bigger tables to accommodate larger groups) and maybe some nicer shade on the front patio. Oh, and Morgan Steele will be busy painting the picnic tables again.

You Are The Reason This Communitea Rocks!
I want to THANK YOU in advance for you patience while our tribe gets used to the new service method and elicit your feedback on how our transformation works for you. See you at Dandy!

Up Next: Ideas we are tossing around.
How about bringing back dinner specials? Maybe a tea website where you can order online? Anyone want a Dandy Tshirt or Bumper Sticker? What about wine tastings? Tea Tastings? Local organic fair trade vegan chocolate! How about catering? Anyone? Anyone?

I love the way the Dandelion is growing and evolving! This communitea DOES rock, and I'm glad I found it. To that end, we should get shirts (dare I call them TEA-shirts?). Also, I love the notion of the tea tasting that you mentioned. There's just too much variety to know where to start. Keep up the amazingness, all.

Sounds great, can't wait. Tea and wine tasting, what a fantastic idea. Sure do miss Sun, Moon and Stars!
Thanks for the great place to relax.

Great ideas, Julie & Tribe! I'm sure these improvements will propel the Cafe to the next level! Congrats on your growth and prosperity, :)
